Josephine Baker Tattoo!

The Poster is an original artwork for Josephine Baker's debut at the Casino de Paris circa 1932. The tattoo is on my back as of Sunday night courtesy of Tiger Rose Tattoos in Pismo Beach, CA. This is just the outline. The color gets injected this Saturday!

It feels like Fall is here..

It's Sunday night here in Pizmo..just came back from B-town with Matt from a lil' weekend trip to attempt to find the corn maze at Murray Farms. No luck. The farm was there, but closed way too early to frolic among the corn foliage of 90 ACRES(!) and by sunday morning, it was just too damn hot! I'm still taking my antibiotics for the bronchitis, and return to work manana, and still not feeling 100 percent...yet! Spent the time with Ernie and Greg, crashed on their floor and had breakfast at the Carrows Kitchen. I miss these guys. They are truly great friends, and have always remained the same after all these years. We have been through soo much together! Troved the antiques and thrift stores later, Matt paid some more cash down on his long board, and I found a bevy of rare Hollywood history! Authentic autographed photos of Marlene Dietrich, Rhonda Fleming, the late and reclusive Lana Turner, Phyllis Diller, and the alluring Dorothy Lamour! Found some old letters and stationary from some prominent Hollywood landmarks, and thoroughly scavanged every paper bin in that store to find more lost treasure. Saw some breathtaking sunset coming in Maricopa and that beautiful way twilight greets night. Soft oranges and creamy peach hues at the top of the mountain range, with the technicolor blue of the closing sunset joining hands with the soft lavenders of twilight layered in streaks by that amazing violet and indigo of midnight. Just amazing. 166 is one helluva way to see the California sky. It's a best kept secret of the central valley to the central coast.
I'm thinking about closing this blog. In its brief time since it's creation, I think its done more damage then good. I may need to start keeping a hand written journal and not leave my thoughts and ideas so public. I really dig this forum and the way it lays out, but I don't want to be so accessible anymore. It's just not that important sometimes to be noticed.

A healthy str8jacketcub taken by Kasey back in July 2009!

I miss that haircut! And I really miss my Kasey!

Dr.'s Orders

I am still alive..barely...I finally had to head to the local "Med-Plus" and figure out why I was having these hot flashes, chills, night sweats and fevers. I thought at first it was hangover. But by day 3, I knew it was more. And it turns out Miss Thang here was sufferin' with BRONCHITIS! Thank heavens! I thought for sure it might be valley fever, or swine flu, but nope, just a catchy case of bronchitis. Of course! Everyone in that miserable membership department contracts it and comes to work with it. This happened to me in the same damn department almost 8 months ago. I was working with this cootie department Friday and by Saturday night, I was starting my decent into the viral hell of bronchitis! Come to think of it, I may have blogged before while taking the codeine cough syrup I got prescribed for it the LAST time! So I am not to go back to work til next Monday. Dr.'s ORDERS (wow..seriously!) So thanks for the good wishes, kind thoughts, and prayers my friends. I misses you too!

The Wig That Wont Die!

ahhh yes, the Evie Harris "surfer wig" I have kept for special occasions. Just brought this little number along the trip in case I felt like being covert and using an assumed name..it's Vegas people, c'mon, you gotta have fun with it!

The Phone Pix that got me and my brother in trouble with Mother (or rather her husband!)

Just what in the world were the boys doing in Vegas for the weekend without even telling their mother?!(inspired from a two sentence text I got on my phone when Chad sent a pic from his phone to my mom)

Confessions of the Angry Corn Cob

"Winter is upon Us.." a soft word of truth and observation made by my great friend David Young this evening, leaving a local Chili's Restaurant. The air is brisker and cooler, and it came about quite suddenly from the heat and oppressive Indian Summer we were having. Spent the earlier part of the day at Costco, trying to waff down hot coffee before I clocked in( it now is against the rules to drink coffee when were on the clock but doesn't apply to the Admnin Office staff, their Mr.Coffee Ice Tea machine and their unusually larger bladders!)..and was cut by 1:30..free to head home, cook up some food for the next couple of days, and practice some vocal exercises while making a choker out of shells and some of the wicked chandelier Crystal prisms I got that have an opalessence fired to them. Currently drinking some magnesium Citrate to rid my body of this horribly large burger I had yesterday at the Madonna Inn. I should have known I'd regret eating soo much (and having a gargachuous slice of German Chocolate Cake before hand to boot!) I don't know what the hell I was thinking! I've been carrying this uncomfortable feeling all day and night, and it's time to give nature a nudge! So watchout coworkers and members at Costco tomorrow!! When I say I gotta go, I gotta go!!
I think I'm gonna shave my hair tonight. I've been playing with the idea for the past couple of days, and it's just been nagging at me. Missed the gym yesterday from feeling sooo miserably full and failed at it tonight from the same damn feeling! I like eating healthy and eating such large quantities of garbage just don't seem as fun as it use too. Besides, I love the way I feel when I'm eating right and hitting the gym. They seem to be synergistic to me.
Things this week have been cool. It's nice to have things slow down at Costco, and to be able to run around and get the rest of my life together. Getting the food prepped, the programs in order and set for the gym, and just doing the work thats gotta get done. Once again, getting determined and doing the shit I need to,even when it's not fun. It's gonna be worth it in the end, and the journey of getting there is amazing.
Went to the Gay Prom at The Wild Cat with Bella Donna and Marty. Met a ton of new cool friends from the area, and was surprised to have a visit from Matt and the crew from AmpSurf! I thought Matt was kidding when he said they were coming down, and of all the times to dress in a red see-through vintage romper and relaxed with a feather hackle wig..not sexy but verrry Vegas Chic circa 1966, and I get these awesome guys I know who are hard core military vets coming to see me!! I woulda looked cute or donned on something less "buffett-like" had I known they'd all be coming! Ces't La Vie, we still had a blast and it was fun!
I've been on a Josephine Baker kick all this week for inspiration, and forgot, I actually had an idea to get a Jo Baker Tattoo a few years ago..I may need to revive this idea, it's really been on my mind! And I may want to get it VERY soon!
Okay, finishing the last of this 'lil bottle of Magesium Citrate and theres a gurgling and rumbling down below..I gotta go kids!!! Oh yeah, and corn is evil, it's the new downfall of civilization! Or rather, Anarchists don't eat corn (anymore) !( I think David Young would agree!)
